Our Mission
The Australasian Council of Dental Schools (ACODS) is committed to the continual development of dental, oral health and dental technology education in Australia and New Zealand, leading to graduates who are competent, humane, and dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the broader community.
The core objectives of ACODS are to:
- To promote excellence in dental and oral health education (teaching, research and service);
- To provide the best educational environment for dental and oral health education;
- To provide an environment that will produce competent dental and Oral Health graduates;
- To improve health and oral health;
- To foster communication and relationships with State and Commonwealth Governments, Universities, organised profession and society at large;
- To create awareness of the role of dental and oral health education;
- To engage in public debate concerning oral health as it relates to dental and oral health education;
- To proactively identify and address matters that impact on dental and oral health education locally, nationally and internationally;
- To provide a network to foster improved communication between members and other groups;
- To advance dental and oral health education;
- To improve the exchange of information and view points on important matters;
- To develop and maintain a website containing information and links relevant to dental and oral health education;
- To foster and develop partnerships with industry.
